Vintage gum/slot machine, Comet Industries, Chicago, see pics and description

Description

This was given to my dad when he was a kid. He is now 75, for a point of reference. There was no key given with the machine, so he broke off the door to get the money to come back out.
The photos have a ruler for measurements, and the weight is just under 5 pounds.
I admittedly know nothing about these things, or their potential value. Please check the photos, and we will do our best to answer any questions you have.
